myRPI is a student-powered portal that is at the center of student life on campus. With user-submitted graphics, quotes, facts about RPI, a robust problem-solving and feedback system, and many useful links and connections to other parts of the RPI community, myRPI is the definitive student homepage for the RPI Student Union.
The project was started by members of the Senate's Web Technologies Group, but the hope is that this project will grow largely independent of the Senate. We are actively seeking new people for the site team--coders, web designers, graphic artists, and content creators alike--and are gradually building the site out via the addition of new content.

The Union Pulse is a weekly newsletter sent to subscribed students, staff, and faculty members and available via printed copies in the Union. It is a joint endeavor of the Student Senate and the Union Admin Office. Key features include a weekly spotlight on a particular Union-based club or organization, updates from the Senate floor, and big social events of interest to the student body.
Ensuring TAs (1) can communicate with their students and (2) understand the material they're expected to teach.
Recycling in the Union suffers from inconsistent implementation and must be retooled to set an example for the rest of RPI.

The Senate Web Tech Group's primary focus is the development and continued expansion of this web site, the home base of the Student Senate at RPI. We are interested in seeking new members who are interested in everything from designing stuff in Photoshop to coding dynamic, interface-driven content management systems.
This current web center runs on Ruby on Rails, an extraordinarily robust and accommodating web framework. The forums are built on phpBB, and they, along with our document management system (KnowledgeTree DMS), require us to use and understand PHP.
If you have any experience with Ruby on Rails, PHP, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Flash, The GIMP, or anything else along those lines, the Web Tech Group wants you on board!
The CRC is researching the possibility of implementing a system with the help of the RPI administration to expand the use of student RAD to downtown Troy. WIth such a system, students will be able to pay for purchases at favorite businesses in town without having to carry cash.
Senator D'Angelo is currently exploring options, feasibility, and costs for a sober driver program for RPI students to get home safely and cheaply from popular drinking establishments.
Having the first semester or first year for freshmen at RPI be "pass/no fail" was an idea brought up in the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee by a professor. The Student Senate has recognized this as a possibility in future years and is in the process of gathering feedback on this issue from students, particularly current freshmen. Confused by the current campus shuttle routes? Have a great idea for a new route or change to a current one? FFA is currently evaluating several proposed changes to campus shuttle routes as well as looking for new ideas and input.
A new Institute Sign Policy was recently passed by the Student Senate, the Faculty Senate, and the Dean of Students. This policy regulates all signs, posters, and banners that are put up around campus. A meeting is currently being scheduled to discuss enforcement, once that's taken care of e-mails will be sent out and notices put up informing students and faculty of the details of the new policy. After that advertising period enforcement of the new policy will go into effect.

With the Peer Advising Program being started by the AAC, you'd be able to find a Student Advisor to answer any specific questions you may have about courses to take, clubs to join, or even places to eat in Troy!
