Committees

The Student Senate collaborates with the surrounding city of Troy through the CRC. Currently concentrating on spreading the convenient RAD student cash system to downtown businesses, the CRC also works with the Troy City Council and the Mayor's Office.

Are you a self-proclaimed code monkey? Would Photoshop be a necessity for you if trapped on a desert island? Do you dream about Ruby on Rails, PHP, or Fast-CGI sockets? If you have any interest in web development, server administration, or image design, consider joining student government's premiere web team. The AAC interacts with Institute faculty, administration and staff to deal with student academic issues. This year, major projects include investigations into the current TA system, the possible implementation of an honor code, peer advising, foreign language courses and mid-term assessments.

Energy conservation, building access policies, and dining plans are only three examples of issues under the FFA umbrella. FFA is a large committee dealing with issues important to students all over the Troy campus. Check it out!

The Rules and Elections Committee is responsible for overseeing all aspects of elections. RNE, as it is affectionately known, manages elections for first-year students in the fall of each academic year, and Grand Marshal (GM) Week in the spring.

RNE is composed of members of the Senate and several other student government organizations. All members must be selected to join RNE, so the committee does not meet regularly outside of preparation for elections.
